Overview

A single year-end question. 403,000 views. A conversation that kept moving.

A strong social post gives people something to respond to. A strong conversation strategy gives them a reason to keep responding. During Ayanna Henderson's work leading Steve Harvey's personal social channels, maintaining his voice meant understanding how he connects with people: direct questions, familiar language, humor, encouragement and the occasional challenge to tell yourself the truth.

That approach informed content designed to make the audience part of the conversation. X and Threads offered space to extend an idea through replies, follow-up questions and additional perspective — giving a single topic more room to develop.

The Challenge

Attention is not connection.

For a public figure with a large audience, attention alone does not establish connection. The creative challenge was to translate Steve Harvey's recognizable personality into written content that felt personal and invited meaningful participation.

Year-end content presented a useful opportunity. Audiences were already thinking about change, relationships, habits and the coming year. The strategy needed a question specific enough to answer, broad enough to include different experiences and direct enough to sound like Steve.

The Creative Approach

One question. Every level of entry.

A December 2, 2025 X post asked the audience what they were leaving behind in 2025. The accompanying graphic paired Steve's portrait with a bold question, creating an immediate visual entry point.

The caption added the personality. Conversational phrasing made the question feel like something Steve might ask across a table, while the reminder that everything cannot come into the new year gave the audience a reason to reflect.

People could enter the conversation at different levels: a quick joke, a personal admission, a statement about boundaries or a commitment to change. That flexibility made participation accessible without losing the post's central idea.

Execution

How the conversation moved forward.

The follow-up returned to the original question and connected an honest answer to the beginning of 2026. That shift mattered. The opening post asked people to identify what they wanted to leave behind. The reply gave that answer a consequence: deciding what to release could become the first step toward what came next.

This is the strategic value of a connected sequence. Each contribution has a purpose:

The conversation gains momentum when the next contribution advances the idea. Repeating the opening message offers less reason to return.

  • The opening creates recognition: a timely question people can apply to their own lives.

  • The follow-up adds meaning: a perspective that deepens the original prompt.

  • Audience responses create new directions: themes that can inform additional questions, commentary or future content.

Scope — X & Threads

Same voice. Adapted delivery.

The broader approach treats X and Threads as places where a brand's voice can develop through conversation. On X, a concise opening can establish the topic, with connected replies adding perspective and keeping the discussion anchored to the original post. On Threads, the same central idea can support a more expansive exchange through additional context, reflective questions and responses.

The editorial task is to adapt the delivery while preserving the personality. A recognizable voice should remain consistent across platforms, even when the wording, pacing and length change. For Steve Harvey, that means retaining the directness and human insight audiences associate with him. Follow-ups need to feel like the next thing he would say.

The Result

403,000 views. 294 replies. A conversation that kept moving.

The opening X post reached approximately 403,000 views with 1,500 likes, 236 reposts and 294 replies. The follow-up added 6,896 additional views. Those figures reflect the reach of a single well-placed question and the participation it generated.

The replies themselves became editorial material — revealing the language, concerns and experiences the audience brought to the topic. That kind of response is both a measure of engagement and a resource for future content.

Why It Matters

AHM's contribution.

This work reflects Ayanna Henderson Marketing's approach to executive and personality-led social media: understand the voice, identify a relevant audience tension, write an accessible opening and consider how the conversation can continue.

The work combines brand voice development, copywriting, editorial planning, platform adaptation and community engagement strategy. Audience responses can also inform future content by revealing the language, concerns and experiences people bring to the topic.

For clients, the value is a more sustained relationship with their audience. One well-chosen question can become an ongoing exchange — and that exchange can provide both connection and useful editorial insight.

At the time of the supplied screenshot, the opening X post displayed approximately 403,000 views, 1,500 likes, 236 reposts and 294 replies. The visible follow-up displayed 6,896 views. Those figures document the opening post's reach and participation, along with additional visibility for the follow-up. They do not establish how many people moved between the two posts or measure sentiment, website traffic or conversions.
